Overview

A small resort that feels like a private home: twelve villas, four courtyards and a lot of shade.

The challenge

Desert heat makes most outdoor space unusable from May to September.

What we did

We grouped the villas around four courtyards with deep colonnades, planted palms for shade and turned the pools into the center of each group.

The outcome

Seventy percent of the outdoor space is shaded at noon and the resort filled 91% of its nights in year one.

Results
12Guest villas
91%Occupancy, first year
70%Shaded outdoor space

Guests tell us the courtyards are the reason they book again.
