Overview
A two-story library on the harbor with a reading room that faces the water and a children’s floor that opens onto a park.
The challenge
The neighborhood had outgrown its library, a converted storefront with no quiet space.
What we did
We ran nine community workshops and designed around what people asked for most: daylight, places to sit and a real children’s floor.
The outcome
Construction starts next spring; the library opens in 2027.
